We've been to Thai restaurants twice. One is "White Elephant" at JWMariott which has a lunch buffet. It costs about 350 bath ($11) and there are various type of food. Thai yellow / green curry, salad, sashimi, noodles that is my favourite dish. You can choose noodles, beef or chicken, then add spices. It was very delicious and I like this restaurant. But we have a small problem that most of restaurants in Thai use MSG so after eating, we become very thirsty.
The another restaurant is called "Spice Market" in Four seasons hotel. We ordered a set menu and two dishes.
This is called Thai snack. Put some dried shrimps, limes, peanuts and fish sauce on a leaf and roll them up. It is very nice snack. I love it.
Above photos are the set menu for a person. Can you believe it? It is very big portion.
This is a baked eggplant with Thai flavour.
Here is my favourite Sunday buffet at Plaza Athenee. There are a lot of gorgeous dishes. My eyes were drawn by Peking Duck...
ム。I chose some French oysters, caviar and proschiuto di Parma. I had to leave some space for desserts.
I hope you enjoy seeing these desserts. Most of chocolate desserts were used by Valrhona. How gorgeous they were. Of course, taste was wonderful!
I loooove chocolate fountains. They made a chocolate souffle in front of us.
There are many different kinds of ice cream. Unfortunately, I can't try all of them, but at least I enjoyed looking at them.
です。There is a very big park which is called Lumpini Park. There are many people to come there to exercises. Some people danced with fans or sword. Also yoga, aerobics, jogging and tai chi are very popular in this park. After exercising, they start eating breakfast. It looks everyone buys food at the street store and no one cooks food at home. It is very interesting scenery. In the park, there are some machines, bars and tennis courts. The national anthem is played at 8 am and pm, then everybody has to stop when the song is played. It was very wired, but also amazing moment. When I was jogging, everybody stopped and stood up for respecting the king then when the music finished, everybody returned to normal. I also see many bikes. They ride two or three people without helmets on a bike. Sometimes a passenger hold an electric fan or baby. There are a lot of street shops that sell fruits, noodles and snacks. However, chicken BBQ shops prepared the chicken by marinating it on large trays in the sun. I know BBQ always smells nice, but I can't challenge to eat them when I saw it.
Finally, we arrived Bangkok. It took 24 hours from NC through Tokyo. When we arrived at the airport, beautiful orchid welcomed to us! Also my family joined our trip for couple of days. We went to Emerald temple and Wat pho by river. It was very humidity day, but we enjoyed sightseeing with my family. We also took a Thai massage from Wat pho that is also known as the birth place of traditional Thai massage. It was OK, but I felt muscle pain afterwords. After my family left Bangkok, I started jogging in the park, exploring shopping areas by myself. I also went to Spa. I used to go to spa in the hotel, but I tried to go a local shop which seems to be quite popular to Japanese. I saw couple of Japanese over there. I took a aroma oil massage and facial. When I went there before 3pm, they gave me a free facial massage. How lucky I am! The massage was nice, but the local spas was very different atmosphere compared to hotel spas. I didn't know how much I should give tips to masseuse. When I gave her some tips, but she wasn't satisfied and she totally changed her attitude. It was a bit uncomfortable experiment for me. In here, everybody expected to get some tips because their salary is very low so they has to earn some money from tips so if you go to spa, you should give at least 100 bath, if you get on taxi, probably you should give some change 20 bath etc. Taxi is very cheap and very friendly, but if you stuck in a traffic jam, it is disaster. Some time walking is the best way to hang around in the town. :-)
