Finally, I will finish Hanoi trip. We went to Museum of Ethnography. Vietnam is a multi ethnic county, which is composed of 54 ethnic groups. The museum is divided into two parts: an indoor and an outdoor exhibition in 3.3 hectares of land to the Museum. We didn't have a enough time to see all of them so we only saw an outdoor exhibition which is to highlight different types of houses in all parts of Vietnam. There were many different types of stilt houses.
This house was so high stair case. It would be hard to up and down everyday. You can see inside house, too!
This house was a long house. It about 20m long to the end. I think we saw more than 10 different type of houses, but I forgot to take photos. However, I quite like this museum.
I saw postcards in a souvenir shop.

I felt Vietnam is tough country. Look, people ride a bike with ducks, cows and pigs. Not only a one duck or a pig. It is amazing. I also saw them on the street, too.
Here is the presidential Palace which erected for the General Governor of Indochina. It's a huge French colonial style building and looks very nice, but Ho Chi Minh didn't live here. He invited many foreign guests in this palace. You can't go inside so just to take a photo from outside.
We liked his house very much. Nice design and very plain.
We also went to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, but his body wasn't there. His body was in Russia for restoration and preservation work. However, guards stood at the entrance without words. Normally, you can see his body, but rules are very strict. Visitors must be silent, and walk in two lines and no photos.
Thang Long Water Puppetry Theater is very popular in Hanoi. We were very lucky to get tickets also our seats was the front row!! The puppets are made out of wood and the lacquered. The shows are performed in a waist-deep pool. A large rod supports the puppet under the water and is used by the puppeteers, who are normally hidden behind a screen , to control them. Thus the puppets appear to be moving over the water. The end of the show, the puppeteers come out from the screen. All stories and songs are Vietnamese so we didn't understand what they said, but we enjoyed it very much.
