Bye bye Carrboro

5年住んだカーボロともお別れです。最初来た時の印象は、あまりにこじんまりとした町でどうなるかと思いました。夜になれば、野生の鹿やうさぎを見ることが出来たり、うちの前なんて街頭一つもなかったりで驚く事ばかりだったけど、住めば都です。


Weaver Marketには本当にお世話になりました。歩いて行けてオーガニック専門でこの５年、本当にたくさんの料理をしました。たぶん、それもこのマーケットのお陰。

スペイン語を習いそこで出会った友達とたくさん時間を過ごし、またタップを通して出会った先生とフルートとピアノのコンチェルトをセッションしたり、とにかく最後の最後で友達の輪が広がりました。

なんで、もっと前に出会えなかったんだろう・・・・と思う事もあるけれどたぶんこれが、「縁」というものなんだと思う。「縁」さえあれば、どこへ行ってもきっとまた会う事が出来ると信じている。

日本語を教えてであった生徒達にも感謝をしている。本当にみんな、みんなありがとう。
そして、日本にいる友達も含めて今度はベルギーで会いましょう。
次回からはこちらのブログでよろしくお願いします。

This is the last day for us. We will leave Carrboro after 5 years. We really enjoyed living in rural. When we walked around in the night, we often saw deer and rabbits. It was amazing!! It never happened in Tokyo! I have met many nice people in here for 5 years. I've learnt Spanish and taught Japanese. It was really good experience for me. I also enjoyed cooking, tapping quilting and drawing. I also had a session with flute and piano.
Thank you for being my friends. We hope we can see all our friends in Belgium. Also I will start a new blog.

落水荘/Fallingwater

建築家のフランク・ロイド・ライトが設計したカフマン（アメリカのデパートのオーナー）の別荘です。シカゴで彼の仕事場兼住居を見て以来どうしても、彼の建築した他の家を見てみたかったのです。

この別荘は滝の上に建てられています。カフマンさんの好きな場所を大いに取り入れられた家になったようです。














家に入るとすぐにリビングになっており広々としていていい感じです。そして、ソファーの反対側にドアがあって家の下に流れている川に出られるようになっていて、そこから釣りをしたり泳ぎにいく事も出来るようになってる。これは、良い考え。












窓がたくさんあって、すごく気持ちいいでも、ピッツバーグは冬は雪もたくさん降るし、たぶん冬に滞在するのは寒いのではないかと思われる。ツアーガイドの話しによると、秋は紅葉で覆われすごくきれいだそうです。だから、人々もたくさん訪れるそうです。

各部屋に大きなベランダがありました。でも、客室はかなり小さめ。フランクロイドは、日本家屋の影響をこのカフマン邸でも見る事が出来ました。そして、葛飾北斎の絵もフランクロイドからの寄贈で飾られてありました。

もちろん、すごーーーくお金がかかっている別荘だと言う事は言うまでもありません。（笑）



そうそう、フリーダ・カロとディエゴ・リベラはカフマン邸に泊まった事があるそうで、ディエゴ・リベラが描いた絵も飾られていました。

We've been to Fallingwater /Kaufmann Residence is a house designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 193t in rural Pennsylvania.
The house was built above the falls. It was amazing idea. When you entered an entrance, you can see a big living room, the you also see the door is in front of sofas that you can go to the river. There are many windows so you can also enjoy beautiful scenery in all seasons. However, there is a snowy area, too so Mr. Kaufmann spent in summer time. A tour guide told us that Autumn is the best season to see because of all trees changes colours.

Their guest rooms are little bit small than we expected, but this is the Lloyd's method. He likes Japanese house design which is making bigger at common area, but individual room and corridor tried to make narrow or small then if you go to big space, you can feel bigger than real space.

Mr. Kaufmann invited Frida Kahlo and Diego Livera in this house then Diego gave his paintings. Also Hokusai Katsushika's paintings which were given by Frank Lloyd was displayed in their rooms.

We saw couple of Frank Lloyd projects, but we liked the Kaufmann Residence best.

ピッツバーグ/Pittsburgh

イースターホリデーを利用してピッツバーグにいる友達に会いにいきました。NCから車で８時間・・・運転はパートナーにまかせもっぱらナビゲーターです。



ノースカロライナからヴァージニアに向かう途中にあるマウントエアリー。












日本ではあまり長時間の運転ってしないような気がするんだけど、外国人は車で移動するのは普通な事のようです。２、３日かけて他の州へ行くなどよく話を聞きます。

ピッツバーグはペンシルバニア州の南西部にある町で鉄鋼の町として知られています。現在ある高層ビルの当たりは鉄工所跡地だそうです。






そして当時は大気汚染で昼間でも夜のように真っ暗。ちょっと見にくいのですが、写真一つ一つに午前８時、昼間などと時間が書いてあるのですが、どれを見ても真っ暗です。

昼までもネオンがついています。雨も真っ黒。すごいですよね。こんな中で当時は生活をしていたんですから。











アルゲイニー川とモノンガヘイラ川が合流してオハイオ川の起点になっているそうで丘の上から見ると川の色が違うんです。


です。そしてピッツバーグはあのアンディーウォーホォルの出身地でもあり美術館がありました。残念ながらイースターホリデーの為、見る事は出来ませんでした。


アンディーウォーホォルと言えばキャンベルスープですよね。そうなんです。キャンベルもピッツバーグが本社。あとデルモンテも。

で、このキャンベルスープの絵は、当時アンディーウォーホォルが無名の頃、キャンベルスープを題材に使ったので訴訟を起こしたとか。でも、その後、彼が有名になったので訴訟が却下されたとかなんとか。どこまでが事実なのか分かりませんがそんな話しも聞きました。

現に、今じゃアンディーウォーホォルのお陰でキャンベルスープが有名と言ってもおかしくないくらいですからね。







現在では、きれいな町並みですが・・・・やはりノースカロライナとは全く違う雰囲気の町でした。たぶん、気候のせいもあるのでしょうが、まだ寒さを感じました。天気もどんより・・・って感じで。ノースだともうすでに夏ですからね。




翌日は友達とダウンタウンを散策。高層ビル周辺がダウンタウン当たる場所でこんなビルがありました。

　　　

すべて鏡で出来ていてピカピカのビルもあるけど、ほとんどはレンが作られている町のようです。


レンガの町の所々にカラフルな絵が描かれていました。











We've been to Pittsburgh to see our friends in Easter holiday. It took 8 hours by car. It was long long way from NC. We drove through mountains area. My husband drove all the way so he must be tired. My friends showed us in town. The city is historically known as steel industry.

We took incline near the river side and see a panorama view from the top of hill. However, this city used to be steel industry so air pollution was really bad. One of my photos showed how bad pollution was in this town. Even early morning or day time, street lamps lit up because of darkness.

Andy Warhol came from Pittsburgh. He painted Campbell's soup when he was unknown painter. I am not sure it is true story or not, anyway, I heard that Campbell sued him because he used it without authorization. After Andy became famous, Campbell dismissed.

We also walked around downtown Pittsburgh. One of skyscraper was made of glass, but most of buildings in downtown were built by bricks. However, it was the Easter holiday, most shops closed. We saw some vivid paintings in a street walls in the town.

クロワッサン/Croissants

クロワッサンにちょっと前から挑戦してました。やっと美味しいと思えるクロワッサンができて大満足。さくさくでフワフワ。
やっぱりクロワッサンは気長に時間をかけて作ると美味しいのが出来るようだ。ちなみにクロワッサンを焼くまでに3日間かかってます。（笑）

今回はチョコと普通のクロワッサンだけど大好きなチーズクロワッサン等も作りたい！

I have tried to make croissants and finally showed my best croissants. They are looking good and taste good! The outside was crispy and the inside was light and fluffy. I only made chocolate and butter croissants so I want to make cheese croissants next time!

オースティン、テキサス／Austin Texas

先週末は4日間ほどテキサスのオースティンという所に友達に会いにいってきました。友達と言っても、出会った時は私の生徒だったんです。でも仕事の都合でオースティンに引越してしまいました。彼女達の送別会で「必ず遊びにきて」と言われていてお言葉に甘えて遊びに行ってきました。（笑）

さて、初めてのオースティン！まったくノースカロライナと違います。都会です。大きいです。そして暑いです。なんか活気に溢れているというかシカゴと似ているような感じ。高層ビルが建ち並び、でも、そのすぐ横には川が流れていていい感じなんですよ。びっくりしました。
もちろん、彼女達が住んでいる所がまた良い所。ダウンタウンの一等地と言っていいほどの高級マンション。（フロントなんてホテルみたい）部屋の窓からは川が見え自然と都会が一体になってる感じ。東京で言えば六本木かな？

さて、オースティンで何をしたかというと、彼女達は私達の為に色々と予定を立ててくれたんだけど飛行機が遅れたり私達が怠け者で早く起きれなかったりで大幅に予定を変更。でも、すごく楽しかった。まずは、彼女達のうちから見える川でローイングに挑戦！うちから５分良い環境です。

４人がボートに乗って一人２つのオールを持ち友達のお父様の指示に従い一斉に漕いでいきます。私の後ろに友達のお父様が乗り、指導してくれるのですが何せ、英語が。ボート用語だったりするともう、クエスチョンマークだらけでとりあえず、見よう見まねでやってみました。この日は少し風があったりもして近場をぐるりと・・・・。上手くオールをさばく事が出来ると手に伝わる感覚が違うんですよ。そして思った以上にスピードも出て良いエクササイズだと思いました。体全体を使う感じで。楽しかったです。また機会があったらやってみたい!!!

オースティンは食もノースカロライナとはちょっと違いました。まずトラック屋台がそこかしこにあります。でも、その屋台もホットドックなどのファーストフードではなく、本格的なインドカレー屋だったり、オーガニックな物を使った屋台だったりと種類が豊富。

そして屋台の前にはテーブルが並んであり自分たちで飲み物持参・・・ってな感じ。

そうそうデザートの屋台も出ててドーナツに挑戦。オーダーをしてから作ってくれるので生地もフワフワで美味しかったです。

食べるのと話すのにに忙しくて食べ物の写真がありません！・・・・（笑）でも、UCHIというレストランは日本料理をフュージョンした感じのお店ですごい人気でした。シーフードが思った以上に新鮮で美味しかったです。


おいしいものを食べた後は、ライブへ・・・・。ノースカロライナではあり得ない楽しみ方です。（笑）オースティンはカントリーミュージックが盛んで、年に１度バンドが３０００組も集まるフェスティバルがあるそうです。私達が行ったのはキャロリンワンダーランドというバンドでした。彼女の声、ハスキーで凄く格好よくてプラスエレキを始め、トランペットなどの楽器も歌いながらこなすんです。私は、初めて知ったのですが、日本にもツアーで行ってるみたい。夜中の１２時ころまで街はネオンでキラキラ。お店も賑やかでびっくり。私のアメリカのイメージはニューヨーク、ワシントン、シカゴ、サンフランシスコなどの大都市以外はみんな夜は静かなものだと思ってた。（笑）


次の日は、朝はのんびり起きてショッピングへ。全くそんな計画は立ててなかったのですがオースティンってアウトドアのスポーツが盛んでお店も豊富。まずは、ランスアームストロングの出身でもあるのでバイクのお店でツールドフランスでの彼のモデルのバイクが展示してあったり、友達の一人がバイクショップで働いていた経験ありでお見せ回りもスムーズ。

。彼女達に「えらい」と褒められました。よく普通のシューズで１００キロも・・・と。私にはバイクシューズとの違いが分かってないので未だにすごい事なんだとは分かっておりません。でも、そのうち分かる事でしょう。（笑）

そして、ランニングシューズもついでにゲット。これはソールが薄いタイプでランニング、ウォーキングに最適。これはパートナーとお揃い。

バイクシューズに必要なペダルとサドルも。このサドル、ちゃんとサイズを測ってくれるんです。だから、痛くないはず。もちろん、友達も持っていてお薦めと言われた。

そして最終日はゴスペルブランチというまたまたオースティンならではの所へ。ビュッフェタイプで食べながらゴスペルを聞くんです。


彼女達が前もって予約をしてくれたので２階席からステージを見下ろす感じ。４人のコーラスに男性と隣の女性がメインで歌う感じ。皆さん素晴らしい歌声です。ただ、コーラスの人達はほとんどソロパートがないのでちょっともったいない感じ。

ニューヨークのハーレムツアーでゴスペルを聞きに行った時は、教会はアカペラでまた違う雰囲気でした。ちょっと神がかってるところがあり、異様な感じも。


ま、こんな感じでオースティンを堪能してきました。残り少ないアメリカ生活を思う存分楽しみたいと思います。

Long time no update... ( Yes, I am a bit lazy. :-)) We went to Austin to see our friends who were used to my students! They were so nice to us. First of all, I tried to row with my friends in a river which can see from their apartment. My friend's farther has rowed for 15 years so he taught me a bit, but I had an English problem as usual so it was a bit difficult for me to understand what I should do. However, my friend's father gave us an instruction so we just followed his order.
Even I couldn't do much, but I still feel fun! I would like to try it again.... It would be good exercises.

After exercising, we went to Japanese fusion restaurant is called UCHI. There dishes are so nice. Especially seafood were good. I totally forgot to take photos because we were so busy eating and talking... Then we went to a live. The band was Carolyn Wonderland who sung country music and Carolyn was so talented. She played a guitar and trumpet also she had an amazing voice. They also had concerts in Japan.

In Austin, there are many bike shops. We went to the shop which displayed Lance Armstrong's Tour de France bikes. Of course his model is verrrryyy expensive. Wheels cost $3000 each! We were looking for my bike shoes for a long time. He promised me to buy shoes for me because I rode 100K. When I told my friends about riding 100k, they were so amazed because of how difficult it is to ride without bike shoes. I am looking forward very much to riding with NEW bike shoes!!! So finally, we bought nice bike shoes, running shoes, a saddle and pedals for my bike. It was a huge shopping day and needless to say, I had a huge grin :-)

Austin is very lively city. Country music is so popular and there is a big festival once a year. 3000 bands come to Austin. It is totally different as NC atmosphere. My friends also live in downtown so it was a very nice place. We can see a river that we row the boat from their apartment. Austin is very popular among food trucks. There are many different kind of food. We went to Indian food truck which was really delicious. When we ordered they started cooking. The truck is not so big, but they made amazing food. You can bring your own beverages. ( It's a good idea!)

Final day, we went to Gospel brunch. They booked a table for us so we had a nice table. It was a buffet lunch and listened to musics. When I went to NY a long time ago, I joined a Harlem tour to listen to Gospel at a church. It was a cappella. However, this Gospel was with live band so it was a very different. Their expression were so dramatic. 4 choirs didn't have any solo parts so it was bit shame I wanted to listen their voices as well.

We also walked along the river. There were many people running, biking and walking even in the hot weather. It was amazing. In NC, if the weather were too hot, no one want to go outside.

We had a really great time with my friends. Thank you for everything!!!!

アスパラガス/ Asparagus

３月はボタニカルアートの教室に１ヶ月だけ通いました。今回は色鉛筆だけの描き方、色鉛筆プラス絵の具を使った描き方の勉強をしました。ペンとインクだけの手法も前回、習ったのですが、やはり色があると鮮やかでなかなかいい感じです。
最近はもっぱら野菜を描いているような気がします。このアスパラガスは思った以上に上手く描けて大満足！


そしてこちらが学んだペンでの点描法です。ちなみに、これはトマトです。これは忍耐力が必要。黒のインクと天だけで描くのちょっと飽きるところもあるのですが（苦）でも、こちらも続けていきたいと思います。

I took botanical art classes in March. I've learnt colour pencil and water colour. Both techniques are very interesting. I love them. This is my second drawing by colour pencils. Asparagus looks nicer than I expected. I was satisfied my drawing. It is very rarely to feel it.
I also learnt pen and ink which is a little bit boring for me because I only can use black ink and I have to describe everything by stippling.

地震 Earthquake!!!!

朝起きて、メールを確認してたら続々と地震の情報が家族やパートナーの家族から入りました。私は浦島太郎状態でした。「地震？」何、何？って感じでした。やっとインターネットでニュースを探し、その後NHKの生放送のニュースが２４時間流れるサイトを見つけました。もう、見始めたらやめる事が出来ませんでした。あまりの惨事。自分の国がこんな事になってしまっているなんて本当に考えられませんでした。家族を始め友達はみな、無事だったので何よりです。ただ、東北地方の人達の事を考えると胸が締め付けられる思いです。こういう時こそみんなで協力して立ち直って欲しいと思います。もちろん、私が出来る事があれば惜しみなく協力したいと思います。

When I got up and started checking e-mails, my friends asked about an earthquake in Japan. However, I didn't have any information about it until I read news. We had a 14 hours time difference between Japan and North Carolina so when the earthquake happened, I was in bed so I had no idea what's going on! Then I found a NHK live news. It was soooooo disaster and I just doubted what happened. I just couldn't believe it. Tsunami washed away villages at the east coast and no one can stop. I felt how human is small. We can't do anything against a nature. However, Japanese will be united and help each other to recover.

My family and friends in Japan are all safe. Thank you for the messages.

海猫屋 Uminekoya!

去年の話しですが、１１月に日本へ戻った時に友達と行ったお店です。とにかく美味しくボリュームもたっぷり、そしてお値段が安い。８コースで一人３０００円ですよぉ〜。私は日本に戻ったらまた行きたいお店の１つです！

We went to an Izakaya type restaurant in Tokyo. My friend has been there and she recommended to go there. It was amazing and I was so impressed of the foods. We ordered course menu which is 8 dishes for 4 persons. It costs 3000 yen per person! Can you believe it?

I know we ate a lot, however the all dishes are so delicious so we could not help eating them! We would like to go there again! The chef is so keen on food.

この方が店のオーナー。一人で料理を全て作って、お手伝いの男の人いるだけでした。

私達が行った時は、すでにグループのお客さんと個人でのお客さんが何人かいてすごく忙しそうでした。こじんまりとしたお店で、すべてにオーナーの目が行き届いている感じでとても好感の持てるお店でした。４人以上で行く時は必ず予約をした方が良いと思います。そして、お任せコースがお薦めです！


This is the owner, who cook everything and he only has a waiter. The restaurant is compact and cozy so if you go there with number of people you should book a table in advance, otherwise it would be difficult to fit in. Also I recommend to order a course which is worthwhile!

JR Chuo line get off Nishi Ogikubo (south exit) , through the arcade then go straight a little while then the restaurant is the left side. It's about 3 minutes from the station. You can see the name board "UMINEKOYA" with black-tailed Gull sign at the top of the entrance door! ( It is cute)

トリュフ/truffles

今日はパートナーの誕生日です。毎年、何をプレゼントしようか悩むのですが今年は思い切って全て手作りの物にしました。パートナーは一切「物欲」というのがなく何かプレゼントしても気に入らなかったら放置されっぱなしなので。（笑）今年は、彼の好きそうな物を作りました。

まずは、これ！抹茶チョコレートのトリュフ。何度か挑戦しているので少しチョコレートのテンパリングもましに。でも、まだまだ。いつかお菓子の学校にでも通ってみたいなって思う。（願）

そして、写真にはないけどバナナチョコレートブラウニーも作ってみました。最近、パウンドケーキ等も挑戦しているんだけどどうも納得いくような出来になりません。スポンジ系とはあまり相性が良くないみたい！（泣）

で、他のプレゼントは・・・というと、今年は全てハンドメイドと決めたのでディナーは３コースで望む予定。メニューはオニオンスープ、アミューズブッシュ　、メインはサルティンボッカです！
そして、デザートはチョコレートと色々なナッツのタルトにする予定です。

最近、カトラリーのセットを買いました。それも誕生日プレゼントの一部です！（あとで写真を載せますね！）

今日は大忙し！でも、ちゃんとこれからタップのレッスンを受けてきます！

Today is my partner's birthday! He is the very difficult man to give presents. First of all, he doesn't have a desire to buy things except books. Secondly, he is not interested in clothes or anything. He prefers to make if he can do. So I decided to make everything instead of buy clothes. Anyway, I made green tea truffles and banana chocolate Brownie for presents. He loves chocolate so he loves my presents! Truffles are very difficult to make, especially tempering chocolate. I had to be careful about the temperature otherwise chocolate doesn't shine. I tried to make them a few times and I still need practicing, but they are better than last time. :-)
Also I will make 3 courses dinner tonight. Menu would be onion soup, amuse-bouche, saltimbocca and dessert which will be nuts chocolate tart.

I recently bought cutlery sets which we went to a french restaurant in Thailand. We fell in love. I would like to take some photos tonight. I will be very busy for cooking, serving and enjoying his birthday! However, I also have a tap class before dinner so I have to do many things today!

ボルティモアキルト/Bartimore Quilt

やっとボルティモアキルトが完成しました。ボルティモアキルトとは花とバスケットをモチーフとしたアップリケが主流のキルトなんですよ。
私が日本でパッチワーク教室に通って習った時にまぁ、本当に不器用な私は一番苦手な課題でした。アップリケ、本当に苦心したんです。その頃。でも、いつかアップリケを克服したいな・・・と思って挑んだ作品がこれなんです。


このアップリケの布達は全部、余り切れを使って作りました。こうやってみるとスクラップなんて見えないでしょう。

キルトを始めた時に、布を買うのが楽しみで色々な所で布を集めました。でも、自分で買う布ってほとんど色が似たり寄ったりなんです。

でも、このスクラップの布達は、無料でもらった物ばかりでたぶん、私が決して自分から選ばないような布達なんだと思うけど、それが逆に作品のスパイスになってたりします。なので、スクラップの作品は好きです。これがノースカロライナで作る最後の作品です！

Finally, I finished my Baltimore Quilt. Baltimore quilts originated in the region around Baltimore, Maryland in the 1840s where a unique and highly developed applique style of quilt briefly flourished. The designs are often feature floral patterns, and many other motifs are also used. Designs were often highly detailed.

When I used to take quilts lessons in Japan. I've learnt applique technique, but I was the worst students in the class. -:) Anyway, I would like to take on challenge and now I have surmounted the challenge. (No more applique for a while... )

I used all my free scraps which I've got from fabric marketing company. These scraps were very useful because I have aquired scraps of new patterns and colours not already in my material collection. I like using scraps in my projects. This tapestry will be the last project in North Carolina!

明けましておめでとうございます。

本年もよろしくお願いします。

皆さんいかがお過ごしですか？私達はクリスマスから今月の１８日までバンコクで過ごしています。バンコクは夏のようなお天気で過ごしやすいです。カーボロではどうもクリスマスに大雪になったみたいです。やっぱり暖かい方が過ごしやすくていいですね。でも、バンコクでは特別お正月に何かするわけでもなく、日本のおせちが恋しいです。

A Happy New Year

We are in Bangkok now. The weather is very nice. It looks like summer. We came here from Christmas. In Bangkok, it didn't have any special new year celebration so I miss Japanese new year dishes.

箱根／Hakone

日本に帰ってきました。そして今度は私の家族達とまずは箱根に旅行へ行きました。
We came back to Japan then we went to Hakone with my family for a weekend. Hakone has been one of Japan's most popular hot spring resorts for centuries.


箱根ガラスの森に行ってきました。ここが思っていた以上に良かったです。天気もよかったせいかクリスタルイルミネーションがキラキラ輝いて美しかったです。

We went to the Venetian Grass Museum. The Cristal illumination was glittering by sunshine.



素敵なヴェネティアングラスがいっぱいありました。左のグラスなんて折れそうなくらい。このグラスのお名前は「風にそよぐグラス」だそうです。

The museum was fabulous. The glass was so fragile and beautiful. I wish I could have them in my house. :-)


仙石原のすすきの草原、少しずつ色が変わってきていました。去年よりも少し遅かったらみたい。
Here is the silver grass field in Sengokubara. It was just about changing colour.


富士屋ホテルに泊まりました。全てがアンティークでした。お庭がとてもきれい。

We stayed at Fujiya Hotel that is the very first resort hotel in Japan and has been introducing the tradition and culture of Japan to foreign visitors since 1878.
Many celebrities stayed this hotel such as John Lennon, Helen Keller, Charlie Chaplin, the Emperor of Japan.



Normally, in a Japanese spa people go to bathe in a communal bath (ONSEN). The Fujiya hotel caters for foreigners by piping spa water to the private bath in each guest room. The water had quite unmild smell no as strong as some Onsens.

ホテルの裏庭がすごくきれいでした。春もきっと素晴らしい眺めなんだと思います。裏庭から富士山が見える展望台まで歩いて３０分くらいでした。

Behind the hotel has a beautiful garden. There was a small path to reach the viewpoint of Mt. Fuji. We hiked about 30 minutes then could see the Mt. Fuji.


もちろん、眺めは最高でした。富士山を見るとなぜだか幸せな気持ちになりますよね。日本人は特に？
The view was perfect. Mt. Fuji made me happy feeling!!


大湧谷にも行ってきました。そこへ行ったらやっぱり「黒たまご」を食べなきゃね。そして、自然の中で作っているのも見る事が出来ました。

Then we also went to Owakudani which is a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents. It is a popular tourist site for its scenic views, volcanic activity, and especially Black eggs that boiled in the hot springs and boiled eggs turned black and smell slightly sulphuric; consuming the eggs is said to increase longevity. Eating one is sad to add seven years to your life. :-) Of course, we ate them! Can you see the black eggs in the photo?


天気がよかったので景色は素晴らしかったです。
The weather was nice so it was a great trip in Hakone!
